OREGON REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN GREG WALDEN SPOKE AT A HOUSE ENERGY AND COMMERCE SUBCOMMITTEE HEARING, CALLED AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES: PROMISES AND CHALLENGES OF EVOLVING AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGIES. CONGRESSMAN WALDEN WORKED TO PASS THE SELF-DRIVE ACT, WHICH WOULD HAVE PAVED THE WAY FOR SELF-DRIVING CARS, BUT IT CAME UP SHORT IN THE SENATE. WALDEN GOES ON TO SAY THAT THERE IS STILL A NEED TO PASS AN AV BILL IN THE HOUSE, AND THAT THE COST OF INACTION IS MAKING OREGON FALL BEHIND.
