INSPIRATIONAL GRAMPS - NEVER TOO OLD TO START EXERCISING...
A SOCIALIST REVOLUTION, WITH NARY A SHOT FIRED...
How language has softened, while dependency grows, and I think there's a connection. Take a look at this Mail Tribune article from March 15th, 1966.
Note how the Medicare program was run through the Oregon WELFARE commission, and Jackson County WELFARE commission.
What used to be called "Welfare" has morphed into "Ben-Fitz".
There's little stigma in accepting "Ben-Fitz" from SNAP, Medicare, OHP, Unemployment, and yes, even Social Security. A socialism revolution, and no one had to fire a shot. You gotta hand it to the big government parties, they executed it brilliantly. We're ALL for big government now. :-0
Is it any wonder the country finds itself with few makers and many takers? We've been well-trained. Now what?
