I didn’t do it by myself?  Really?

We are told that we entrepreneurs did not create our businesses by ourselves; this is  an incomprehensible insult!

Please name that government person who guided me to try to start my business when I did not even know how I was going pay next month’s rent.

Please name that government person who helped me scrape together enough cash to buy their permission slip to own a business.

Please name that government person who lent me enough money to put a deposit on a small store space.

Please name that government person who sent my first customers to my store.

Please name that government person who shared my risk and helped me pay for my first advertising contract.

Please name that government person who lived on noodles and water for the first six months as I had to do, in order to keep the fledging business alive.

Please name that government person who helped me find, hire, and train my first employees and chipped in to help with their deposit on an apartment near work, as I did.

Please name that government person who shared the blood, sweat and tears, the sixteen hour days with no pay, the shoplifting, the OHSA harassment, the confiscatory premiums charged by the workers compensation pool, the innumerable useless mandates from local, State and Federal agencies, the market downturns, and a thousand other problems that we deal with daily.

Not only do we have to pay half of our earnings to support incompetent politicians and bureaucrats, but now we have to endure these obscene insults as well!
