SATURDAY 6-22 - "DON'T DO IT, WHITE CITY!"

While at the Battle of the Bones today I had a conversation with Jackson County Commissioner John Rachor concerning the drive to incorporate White City. (See MT article HERE)  Honestly, I don't understand what these White City folks are thinking. Incorporating will have two effects:

1) Big increases in taxes and spending

and

2) A major decrease of personal liberty.

The moment you incorporate, everyone wants a law and code for every possible societal irritation. They'll also clamor for ridiculous shows of "civic pride", which seem to be satisfied only through building expensive government fire palaces and the like. Don't do it, White City. Where I live in "oh-so-civilized" Jacksonville you can't so much as fire a BB gun without attracting the long law of police or code enforcement.
