4-17-13 WASHINGTON STATE MAN ARRESTED AFTER ELUDING OSP, MEDFORD POLICE

Apr 17, 2013 -- 9:52am

A 21-year-old Washington state man was arrested early this morning by Oregon State Police, with assistance from Medford Police. At 1:50 a.m., a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Anthony Byam for speeding. Byam sped away before losing control on McAndrews at Crater Lake Avenue. The driver then fled the vehicle, and stole a bicycle. However, the bicycle had two flat tires and the pursuing trooper was able to overtake him. After a taser had no effect, Byam continued to flee on foot. He was eventually found hiding in a shed and arrested by Medford Police.
