Five people were plucked from the Rogue River yesterday afternoon between Eagle Point and Shady Cove when their boat filled with water and became stranded on rocks in the middle of the fast-moving river. Authorities say the call came in around 12:30 p.m. It took rescuers about two hours to get everyone safely to shore. Rescue crews say the fiberglass boat wasn't designed to hold that many people. The four boys and one male adult passenger were all shaken up, but otherwise uninjured.
