A Medford man is behind bars on more than $3 million bail on charges of arson, contempt of court and initiating a false police report. Authorities interviewed 47-year-old Louis Darnell Walls at Rogue Regional Medical Center after he claimed he had been assaulted by his estranged wife and a male accomplice. A further investigation revealed that Walls had violated a no contact order by showing up at his wife's apartment. Authorities also learned that he had attempted to set the apartment on fire, and then intitiated the false police report in an attempt to get his estranged wife arrested.
