The fight continues in Salem on how to reign in spending on Oregon's Public Employees Retirement System. Roughly 40 bills have been introduced this year as legislators grapple with trying to curb costs associated with PERS. A few proposals have been gaining steam, including an idea by Governor Kitzhaber estimated to save $865 million per biennium.
