2-15-13 OREGON STATE POLICE TO BEGIN OVERTIME PATROLS

Oregon State Police has received a grant from the Oregon Department of Transportation to provide overtime enforcement on selected state highways to decrease the number of roadway departure crashes. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, departure crashes  account for 53 percent of all fatal traffic crashes. Some of the roadways locally that will see increased patrols include Highway 199 north of Cave Junction and Interstate 5 just north of Grants Pass.
