Oregon State Police has made an arrest related to an incident in November where two people were injured when somone tossed a rock from an overpass near Rice Hill. On November 26, 20-year-old Molly Grabill was northbound on I-5 when a rock described as larger than a baseball smashed through the driver's side windshield and hit Grabill in the face. Her 19-year-old passenger, Chris Brewer, attempted to keep the vehicle under control, but it traveled on the shoulder and rolled several times. Both recovered from their injuries. On Thursday, OSP detectives arrested 19-year-old Mathew McKinney from Sutherlin and charged him with assault in the second degree, throwing an object from an overpass, reckless endangering, criminal mischief and assault in the fourth degree. The investigation is ongoing and additional arrests may be pending.
