1-31-13 MAN DETAINED ON SUSPICION OF DRUNK DRIVING
Jan 31, 2013 -- 9:37amAn Ashland man was detained by Oregon State Police on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing into the back of a Jackson County Fire District No. 5 engine Tuesday night. The accident occured on Highway 99 between Phoenix and Talent in almost the exact location where a Medford man died in a crash earlier that day. Police say 59-year-old Benjamin C. Qualkinbush was taken to a detox center where he blew a .18, more than twice the legal limit in Oregon. No one was injured in the crash.
