Former Phoenix Mayor Carlos DeBritto has lost his year-long battle with cancer. DeBritto was elected to office in 2006 and was very active in the Phoenix community. He volunteered in theatre groups, community kitchens and planted trees in city parks. He is survived by his wife and four children. Carlos DeBritto was 83-years-old.
