12-28-12 ASHLAND RESIDENTS TO PROTEST PLAZA TREE REMOVALS

A protest is scheduled today in the Ashland Plaza where two sweetgum trees are scheduled to be removed. Four more will be removed later as part of a $140,000 Plaza renovation project. Residents say they will be there to protest what they are calling a "massacre." Meanwhile, Ashland officials say that nine more trees will be planted in the area.
