On March 27, 2012, Medford Police responded to the apartment complex at 700 Crater Lake Av for a shooting. The investigation showed that the shooting was gang related between the Sureños and the Norteños. The shooting suspect was identified as 21 year old Jose Manuel Macias.
On August 22, 2012, Macias was indicted on the charges Attempted Murder, Attempted Assault in the First Degree, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing and Reckless Endangering and a felony warrant was issued, bail $500,000.00. In addition, there is also a no-bail felony warrant, held by Oregon State Parole Board, for Parole Violation on the charge of Robbery II.
Macias is described as a Hispanic male adult, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing approximately with 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo of the word “Respect” on his right wrist, “Loyalty” on his left wrist, a cross with an angel and “RIP” on his upper left and tattoos on his neck.
