6-20-12 SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATING DEATH IN EAGLE POINT
Jun 20, 2012 -- 9:41amThe Jackson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a death that occured in Eagle Point. Deputies responded to the boat ramp at Dodge Bridge for reports of a body found in the Rogue River early yesterday morning. Two men fishing from a drift boat noticed the body in the water and called 911. The victim was later identified as 69-year-old Roy Knight of Bend. He was last seen camping at Rogue Elk Park near Trail on Monday. An autopsy and toxicology lab have been scheduled, but medical examiners do not expect any foul play. The case remains under investigation.
