RIP Kerry Bradshaw
Was saddened to hear that Jackson County Surveyor Kerry Bradshaw dies in a motorcycle crash late yesterday afternoon on Wilson Road in Central Point. Prayers all around.
RIP Jon Lord
Jon Lord, Deep Purple's founding keyboardist, and Hammond organ virtuoso dies of cancer. He was 71.
Can't tell you how often I've listened to his amazing organ solo runs, back them up, listen to them again, and again...trying to figure them out. (Emphasis on "trying") He was classically trained, and it showed. RIP, Mr. Lord.
The President praises collectivism in a weekend speech:
While this clip was a short irritant, other sections of the hour long talk stood out to my ears: For Example - "There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me -- because they want to give something back." (implying to be successful means you "took" from other people)
"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help....Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet."
Obama's conceit, like all the other collectivists, is if the government didn't do it, it never would/could have happened. Yep, you need to steal from 3rd parties to make "good things" happen.
Who is to say without the government interference that BETTER communication/transportation systems wouldn't have been created?
Honestly, left to our own initiatives, would we have created the Post Office?
