12-8-17: MEDFORD STILL LOOKING FOR IDEAS FOR BIG MONEY.

THE CITY OF MEDFORD IS STILL LOOKING INTO WHAT TO DO WITH NEARLY 20 MILLION DOLLARS. AT A MEETING LAST NIGHT, MURA DIRECTED AN ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO COME UP WITH PROPOSED PROJECTS NORTH OF JACKSON STREET, WITH 10% OF THE FUNDS SET TO GO TOWARD SEISMIC RETROFITTING FOR DOWNTOWN MEDFORD. WHILE MURA HAS GIVEN IDEAS TO THE BOARD, NO DECISION HAS BEEN MADE. THERE ARE MANY, HOWEVER, THAT BELIEVE THAT A LARGE CHUNK OF THAT MONEY SHOULD GO TO RESTORATION EFFORTS FOR THE LIBERTY PARK AREA.
