7-20-17: SHARK SIGHTINGS NEAR OREGON BEACHES

THERE WERE TWO SHARK SIGHTINGS REPORTED NEAR POPULAR OREGON BEACHES ON TUESDAY CHRIS HAVEL WITH OREGON STATE PARKS, SAYS THEY’VE PUT WARNING SIGNS AT BOTH BEACHES. HE SAYS THE GREATER CONCERN IS FOR SURFERS, BECAUSE THEY’RE IN DEEP WATER. PEOPLE PLAYING IN THE SURF NEAR THE BEACH HAVE LESS OF A CONCERN. A SHARK ATTACKED A MAN WHO WAS SURFING JUST NORTH OF CANNON BEACH LAST YEAR.   MORE THAN A DOZEN SPECIES OF SHARK LIVE OFF THE OREGON COAST.
