12-27-16: THREE INJURED ON MT. ASHLAND.

THREE PEOPLE WERE INJURED ON MOUNT ASHLAND YESTERDAY INCLUDING A 15-YEAR-OLD GIRL, WHO WAS AIR LIFTED FROM THE MOUNTAIN. ASHLAND FIRE & RESCUE SAY IT WAS A ‘TRAUMA ACTIVATION’, WHICH MEANS THE GIRL WAS TREATED WITH IMMEDIATE CARE. MANAGER HIRAM TOWLE SAYS AIRLIFTS ARE OFTEN MADE OUT OF PRECAUTION WHEN THEY DON’T KNOW HOW SERIOUS THE INJURY COULD BE. CREWS WERE ALSO CALLED TO HELP WITH A SEPARATE, UNRELATED INCIDENT… WHERE TWO OTHER PEOPLE WERE HURT. ASHLAND FIRE & RESCUE SAYS THOSE INJURIES WEREN’T SEVERE. THEY WERE BOTH SENT TO THE HOSPITAL.
