11-18-16: MARION COUNTY JUDGE INDICTED.

MARION COUNTY JUDGE VANCE DAY HAS BEEN INDICTED BY A GRAND JURY FOR ALLEGEDLY TWICE HELPING A FELON GET ACCESS TO A FIREARM. THE INCIDENTS HAPPENED IN 2013 AND 2014. COURT RECORDS INDICATE HE TRIED TO LET BRIAN SHEHAN, WHO HAS A FELONY CONVICTION, GET ACCESS TO A GUN. DAY REMAINS A JUDGE, BUT HAS BEEN ASSIGNED TO DO SPECIAL PROJECTS FROM HOME. IN 2015, DAY MADE NEWS FOR REFUSING TO PERFORM SAME SEX WEDDINGS. THE JUDICIAL FITNESS COMMISSION HAS RECOMMENDED THAT DAY BE REMOVED AS A JUDGE.
