6-1-17: MEDFORD SOLAR FARM, ONE STEP CLOSER.

A FIRST READING OF AN ORDINANCE WAS APPROVED BY THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS TO GRANT AN EXCEPTION TO A STATE GOAL TO PRESERVE FARMLAND. THIS IS ALL FOR A PROPOSED SOLAR FARM WHICH MIGHT BE BUILT ALONG ROSSANLEY DRIVE, AKA HIGHWAY 238. THE FARM WOULD CONTAIN NEARLY 38,000 SOLAR PANELS. A PUBLIC HEARING HAS BEEN SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, JUNE 14TH, AT THE JACKSON COUNTY COURTHOUSE AUDITORIUM AT 1:30 IN THE AFTERNOON FOR THE PEOPLE TO VOICE THEIR OPINION ON THE SUBJECT.
