4-26-17: FORMER ASHLAND LEGISLATOR CLEARED TO LOBBY LEGISLATURE.

A FORMER ASHLAND LEGISLATOR HAS BEEN CLEARED BY THE OREGON GOVERNMENT ETHICS COMMISSION TO LOBBY THE LEGISLATURE. UNDER A 2007 LAW LEGISLATORS ARE PROHIBITED FROM LOBBYING FOR ONE SESSION AFTER THEY LEAVE OFFICE, BUT SINCE FORMER REPRESENTATIVE PETER BUCKLEY BECAME A PART-TIME BUDGET ADVISOR FOR GOVERNOR KATE BROWN, THE COMMISSION GIVES AN EXCEPTION. AND THAT EXCEPTION IS THAT THE EMPLOYEE OF A PUBLIC AGENCY CAN LOBBY ON ITS BEHALF.
