01-23-17: FMR SHERIFF FALLS FILED SUIT AGAINST MEDFORD SCHOOL DISTRICT.

THE MAIL TRIBUNE REPORTS THAT FORMER SHERIFF COREY FALLS, FILED A DISCRIMINATION COMPLAINT AGAINST THE MEDFORD SCHOOL DISTRICT, BACK IN 2012. THE FALLS FAMILY SUBMITTED A TRANSFER REQUEST, THAT THEIR 8TH GRADE DAUGHTER COULD ATTEND SOUTH MEDFORD HIGH, AS OPPOSED TO NORTH MEDFORD. DOCUMENTS OBTAINED BY THE NEWSPAPER SAID THAT FALLS’ WIFE WAS A SOCIAL WORKER, INVOLVED WITH NORTH MEDFORD’S TEEN PARENT PROGRAM, AND SOMETIMES HAD TO CALL POLICE OR DHS ABOUT SOME OF THE GIRLS, AND IT CREATED A SAFETY RISK FOR HIS DAUTHER. THE TRANSFER WAS ULTIMATELY DENIED. A SETTLEMENT WAS REACHED BETWEEN THE FAMILY AND THE DISTRICT.
