ON TUESDAY, THE OREGON DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ANNOUNCED AT THE GRANTS PASS CITY HALL, A STEP UP IN ITS EFFORTS TO IMPROVE ACCESSIBILITY ON SIDEWALKS AND STREET CROSSINGS FOR THE DISABLED. THE MOVE COMES IN THE WAKE OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FROM DISABILITY RIGHTS OREGON, WHICH CLAIMED THAT THE STATE WAS NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT.
