THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ARE ROUNDLY OPPOSED TO A PROPOSED NATURAL GAS PIPELINE. ALL THREE COMMISSIONERS, CITING ENVIRONMENTAL LAW VIOLATIONS, AND LITTLE PROJECTED ECONOMIC BENEFIT TO THE ROGUE VALLEY, HAVE ASKED THE FEDERAL ENERGY REGULATORY COMMISSION, OR FERC, TO DENY THE PIPELINE PROJECT, THAT WOULD RUN UNDERGROUND FOR 229 MILES, AND WOULD END NEAR COOS BAY.
