IN THE WAKE OF THE MEDFORD CITY COUNCIL APPROVING A BAN ON TROUBLEMAKERS IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA, A RETIRED COUPLE HAVE FILED A LAWSUIT, CLAIMING THE BAN TO BE UNCONSTITUTIONAL. A LOCAL LAWYER, BELIEVES THAT ONE SHOULD RECEIVE DUE PROCESS BEFORE BEING BANNED. THE LAWYER, BILL MANSFIELD, REPRESENTS GARY AND PATRICIA POUND, WHO ARE OPPOSED TO THE BAN. MANSFIELD GOES ON TO ARGUE THAT THE BAN VIOLATES FREE SPEECH AND FREE ASSOCIATION, AS WELL AS THE RIGHT TO TRAVEL AND MOVEMENT, CITING THE OREGON AND U.S. CONSTITUTIONS.
